Interactive Microscopy: Emeritus Edition 2017

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This inaugural Emeritus Course evolved from the Presidents’ Helix, Past-Presidents (viz., Emeritus Presidents) who remain engaged with the Academy to contribute their historical perspective and leadership to help guide the evolution of USCAP. Six giants, mentors, masters are the nuclear powerhouse of this extraordinary course. Expert eyes (on soft tissue, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, endocrine, thyroid and liver pathology) and eloquent voices will commemorate stories of lesions you’ll never forget. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for an intimate mentoring relationship with pathologists who changed the world and improved patient outcomes.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

•   Create an intimate mentoring experience that simulates clinical sign-out in a back-to-basics experience
supporting the concept that personalized medicine begins with personalized education.
•   Facilitate knowledge transfer by accessing world-class experts whose lifetime experience in subspecialty
areas of surgical pathology has refined diagnosis and ensured optimal treatment for common and
rare diseases.
•   Explore, from expert perspective, the current diagnostic criteria, differential diagnoses, and ancillary studies
(molecular, genomic, and stain-based) that clarify and help classify complicated disease processes.

The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology designates this live activity for a maximum of 24 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The USCAP is approved by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) to offer Self-Assessment credits (SAMs) for the purpose of meeting the ABP requirements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC). Registrants must take and pass the post-test in order to claim SAMs credit. Physicians can earn a maximum of 18 SAM credit hours.
